What this all about?

Since 2004 St. Mary's GAC Faughanvale have had a development plan which focuses on the capital development of club. The aim of the project is quite simple-to raise money for the redevelopment of John McLaughlin Park (the club home ground) . The concept is equally simple we are asking people who have the well-being of Gaelic Games in Culture in the parish of Faughanvale to commit themselves to contributing to Development Fund for two years.

The GAA is a part of the fabric of life in Faughanvale, County Derry and beyond. It builds pride and contentment in who we are and where we're from. It is helping reenergize our community and is providing activities for over 250 children under the age of 18. The GAA builds in a changing world a powerful sense of continuity and well being.

The founding members of Club Faughanvale believe that a vibrant and energetic GAA in Faughanvale is not just desirable but necessary. Equally we believe it doesn't just happen;

IT HAS TO BE MADE TO HAPPEN!

Club Faughanvale is about raising the money to help things happen. It's investing now to secure our future. The Club Development and Fundraising committee will use the money raised in three hugely important ways:

Building a new physical infrastructure for St. Mary's Faughanvale

Investing in the continued development of the clubs youth development and coaching programme.

Contributing to cultural activities for example the Irish Language, Scor etc.

What Club Faughanvale means in practice:

We are asking each of our members to contribute

£20 a month for two years

£62.50 a quarter for two years

£250 a year for two years

In total we are asking you to donate £500. We are asking you to make a large commitment to your club. £500 is very little to put into the GAA when you think of all the community and you take out.

What do I get in return?
Club Faughanvale members get nothing except the opportunity to buy into the ownership and development of their club. Being a member of Club Faughanvale is a badge of honour. Members are proud of their membership, proud that they are contributing to something that is important to them……. the future of St. Mary's GAC Faughanvale.

The only two small benefits of being a member of Club Faughanvale are:

Receiving an exclusive Club Faughanvale Coat from O'Neills

Invitation to our Club Faughanvale Banquet in 2007

Club Faughanvale is organised by the Development and Fundraising Sub-Committee of St. Mary's GAC Faughanvale and in return for your support we commit to:

Accounting openly and honestly for every penny we receive by presenting audited accounts to each St. Mary's GAC AGM. Members will also receive the yearly accounts via post.
Keeping in touch with the members and letting them know what's happening by sending each member our twice-yearly newsletter.
